The University of Ottawa Health Services (UOHS) is proud to offer care in the areas of allergy and clinical immunology.

What to Expect

Our specialists provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment to both adults and children with the following conditions:

Our Specialists

Dr. Mitra Abaeian is a board-certified consultant in Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology for children and adults. She completed her medical degree at McMaster University, Internal Medicine Residency at Queens University and her fellowship training in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at University of Toronto. She is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.

 

Dr. Zave Chad MD FRCPC is a Past President of the Quebec Association of Allergists and Clinical Immunologists, the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, a past Chair of the Canadian Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Foundation and the Allergy Section of the Canadian Pediatric Society, a past member of the Board of Directors of AllerGen, National Centre of Excellence. Dr. Chad is a co-chair of The Anaphylaxis in School and Daycare Settings manual that is distributed to all schools and daycare settings in Ontario. He is also a member of both the Adverse Reactions to Foods and the Anaphylaxis Committees of the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology. His clinical and research interests include food allergies and anaphylaxis.

How to access

Patients can be referred  by their family physician or primary care provider for an allergy and immunology consultation.

Referrals can be sent to our clinic by physicians by fax at 613-564-6627.

Referrals for Quebec patients are accepted.

In case of emergency, always dial 911. Telehealth Ontario is a free service that allows Ontario residents to speak to a Registered Nurse with their medical questions any time of the day or night. This could be when you're sick or injured but aren't sure if you need to see a doctor or can treat the situation at home.
