Compass 2018

Three students are smiling and walking.

Parents and future Gee-Gees, you are invited to join us in Ottawa from July 12thto July 14thfor a comprehensive welcome weekend to get a taste of what it’s like to live on campus before move-in. Many first-year students find the transition from living at home to living on campus to be a challenging one for both of them and their families. Our Compass program was designed to help with this transition and orient you to campus life before you arrive in September.

As a student, you can expect to:

  • Experience living in residence and meet other future residents (by staying in the student-segregated area of 90U!)
  • Tour your future residence
  • Eat at your future dining hall
  • Engage with campus and community partners
  • Get acquainted with the campus and learn about services available to you
  • Interact with staff and faculties
  • Learn from keynote speakers

Parents and guests can expect to:

  • Learn about their student’s transition to the university from an expert parenting keynote speaker
  • Get all the answers to their burning questions about having a student attend uOttawa
  • Engage with campus and community partners
  • Get acquainted with the campus and learn about the services available to your student

The package includes:

  • 2 nights stay
  • Full conference registration
  • 4 Meals: Dinner (Thursday), Breakfast (Friday), Lunch (Friday), Breakfast (Saturday)
