Morning Star is an Elder from the Cree Nation of Fort McKay First Nation in northern Alberta. She presently resides in Quebec, has four children and is a Grandmother.
For many years now, she has taught Native spirituality, as well as traditional and cultural knowledge, at Concordia University and at the University of Ottawa. As a wisdom keeper, she also offers Full Moon ceremonies, drumming, and singing, and the Dance of the Four Directions.
Most of all, her devotion is to guide people of all races, bringing awareness of right-relationships with self, family, and community living.
Morning Star is the Elder-in-Residence at the University of Ottawa, where she ensures and promotes emotional, physical, mental and spiritual wellness for all Indigenous learners. She also organizes Sharing Circles and Healing Circles along with various Indigenous ceremonies that take place on or near campus.
