More than a year ago, the University embarked on a new journey by launching a new strategic plan, Transformation 2030. The plan included a review of the financial and human resources processes, which led to the creation of a multi-year Administrative Services Modernization Program. It aims to renew the University’s financial and human resources tools, systems, and processes. To achieve this, and to ensure that the changes implemented meet the needs of our multi-faceted organization, the Program is looking for change agents for its Change Agent Network.
The Network is one way by which the Program intends to facilitate change and engage its stakeholders. It will provide advice on the quality and efficiency of the services we propose, along with on-the-ground experience and comments; this assistance is essential to improving uOttawa’s financial and human services. Its creation also materializes the Program’s motto: People. Organization. Process. by giving the “people” a platform to make their voices heard.
If you’re interested in becoming a change agent
If you have financial or human resources expertise or work in information technology, leadership skills, a desire to help your peers, and the willingness to help shape change in your administrative unit, you may be the right person for the Network.
Being part of the Network will let you shape change in your unit. You will be in-the-know, see early demos, and have a chance to influence hands-on solutions at the outset. Plus, you will gain change management knowledge as you work with the program’s change management team. Think of it as an investment in your career development.
If you’re interested, speak to your immediate supervisor. Need more information? On the program website, we’ve prepared more information about the Change Agent Network for change agents.
If you want to nominate an employee to be a change agent
If one of your employees has expertise in financial or human resources, leadership skills or works in information technology, a desire to help their peers, and the willingness to shape change in their administrative unit, you should consider nominating that person to become a change agent. The Network could be a good way for them to further these skills.
Your unit has the opportunity to be at the leading edge of the Program and its projects by having one of your employees in the Network: you will be in-the-know, you will see early demos, you will have a chance to influence hands-on solutions in advance. Plus, your employee will gain change management knowledge as they work with the Program’s change management team, and they will bring this knowledge back to your team. Think of it as an investment.
