Workshop aimed at fostering exchange and dialogue between participants. Concrete questions addressed included how to define the public interest, how to coordinate decision-making between multiple jurisdictions and public authorities, and how to strengthen the capacity of local and Indigenous authorities.
This conference brought together energy leaders from the public, private, academic, Indigenous and NGO sectors to address the question of local community satisfaction with energy project decision-making processes. It featured premiere speakers and the results of cutting-edge research undertaken by Positive Energy in collaboration with the Canada West Foundation. Energy development has become increasingly contested at the local level.
