Everyone’s Rights & Freedoms, a political cartoon bulletin
The Human Rights Research and Education Centre (HRREC) and Contekst launched a project in 2022 called "Everyone’s Rights & Freedoms".

Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (1982), the idea was to create a political cartoon bulletin showcasing editorial cartoonists’ views on manifestations and violations of human rights and freedoms in various socio-political contexts. Twenty-four (24) cartoons were chosen from works submitted by tens of world-renowned political cartoonists from scores of countries. They showcase an excellent collection of critical, nuanced and diverse editorial cartoons on the theme of Everyone’s Rights and Freedoms.

The cartoons were selected by jurors Hilal Özcan from Turkey and Mello from Brazil, who presently shine amongst the brightest political cartoonists in the world.

The online exhibition is now available on the Contekst research project’s website.
