Breadcrumbs: How can I fix the breadcrumb of Panel pages that don’t appear in the menu?

To fix the breadcrumb title of a panel page that does not have a corresponding menu entry, two options are available: create a hidden menu or use the Panels Title module.

Creating a hidden menu

To create a hidden menu, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Structure and then Menus. Click on the link “Add menu”.
  2. Provide a title for your menu and then, under Multilingual Options, select “Translate and Localize”.
  3. Click on “Save” to create your menu.
  4. Afterwards, create a new menu entry and link it to your Panel page in question, then translate it.
  5. Your Panel page will automatically use the title you provided in this menu. You do not need to do anything else with the menu.

Using the Panels Title module

For this, an administrator will have to search for the module “Panels Title Plugin” and enable it on your site. If you do not have the proper access, please open a Service Desk request and we will enable it for you.

You can then follow the steps highlighted here: Setting the page title using the Panels Title widget. Please note that you will also have to set the style of the page title widget to “No markup at all” (this step is missing). If you have followed all the steps correctly, the breadcrumb will use the title provided in the Panels Title widget.

Note: Unlike the page title snippet, the Panels Title widget can only be added and modified by users with a webmaster-level access. It is also one of the only elements that doesn’t use Component Styles, which could confuse users.
