The Dynamic content list (DCL) widget supports the ability to add a table of contents that lists the grouper headings as links. A user can then click on one of these links to be brought to the relevant section.

Prerequisites

For this tutorial:

  1. You need to be able to add Dynamic Content Lists as content. If it is not available on your site, please ask your webmaster to enable the module Dynamic View, or request that a member of the Support team enable it for you using the Service Desk request form.
  2. You must have already created a Dynamic Content List and it must contain groupers.

Creating the Table of Contents

  1. From the administrative menu, navigate to Structure, and then Pages.
  2. Find the page on that contains your Dynamic Content List and click on Edit.
  3. From the left menu, click on Content.
  4. Find the content pane for your Dynamic Content List and click on the gear icon on the right-hand side. From the dropdown menu, click on Settings.
  5. In the window that appears, click on the tab Groupers.
  6. At the very top, under Grouper Configuration Settings, check the box "Display Grouper Table Of Contents" to enable the table of contents. You may then optionally provide a new label that will appear above the table of contents.
    1. Important: One or more Groupers must be defined in order for the table of contents to appear. If none are defined, then, under Grouper #1, select a "Grouping Method" and configure the necessary settings. To create more groupers, click on the Add Grouper button.
  7. Once done, click on the button Finish, and then click on Update and Save to save your changes.
