Fun for children ages 5-17

Our Gee-Gees camps team has been working hard to create activities, crafts, and so much more for you to do at home! These activities are suitable for children aged 5-17 and should be done with parent/guardian supervision. Access our activities any time and have some fun with the whole family!

Live camps activities

Join our Gee-Gee camp counselors for live virtual sessions where they will guide your children through fun and informative activities! Virtual dance parties, fun worksheets, sports skills, arts and crafts, French as a second language and so much more! Check out our weekly session schedule here!

All sessions will be held on Zoom! Simply send us an email to ggcamps@uottawa.ca and we will provide you with the session links!

You do not need to create an account to view the sessions! 

We ask that parents/Guardians be close by or also participating. We have put precautions in place to ensure your safety and our staff will monitor Zoom calls and will address any issues.  

Sports skills: Swimming

Monday, August 10 : 9:30 - 10 a.m.

Missing swim camp? Join Vince, one of uOttawa’s competitive swimmers this session and learn all about different swim strokes from the comfort of your own home. No pool needed! 

French as a second language

Tuesday, August 11 : 9:30 - 10 a.m.

Join us for a crafts session!  During this session, you will have the chance to practice your French with our instructors. Make sure you have construction paper, paper plates, pencils, scissors and glue.  

Bringing Gee-Gees Home!

Wednesday, August 12: 9:30 - 10 a.m.

Bringing Gee-Gees Home! In this session, campers will have the opportunity to create their very own paper chain snake!  

Live en Français

Thursday, August 13 : 9:30 - 10 a.m.

In this session, come and learn how to create your own comic book with our camp counselors! Pencils, paper, rulers, and the Comic Book handout are the only things needed to participate in this workshop.  

Sports skills: Softball

Monday, August 17 : 9:30 - 10 a.m.

Do you like baseball? Do you like softball? Join Camille, a member of uOttawa’s softball team in learning how to do a proper overhand throw! 

French as a second language

Tuesday, August 18 : 9:30 - 10 a.m.

During this session, you will have the chance to practice your French at the same time as getting a drawing tutorial.  Make sure to have pencils and paper with you.  

Bringing Gee-Gees home

Wednesday, August 19 : 9:30 - 10 a.m.

In this session, your campers will have the opportunity to learn how to create their own collage.  

Live en Français

Thursday, August 20 : 9:30 - 10 a.m.

During this session, you will have the opportunity to exercise with an active dice game! Make sure you have water with you to stay hydrated.

Learn how to be a great leader and participate in fun activities with our Gee-Gees camps counselors in live sessions! We will be hosting a variety of live sessions for different leadership programs.

Counselor in Training

Wednesday, August 12: 1-1:30 p.m. 

Join Craig Quesnel, our Facilities Manager at the University of Ottawa to talk about the university’s and camps’ Emergency Procedures. This session will allow you to gain insight on how to deal with emergency situations when they appear. 


Cooking with camps

Friday, August 14: 11:15 - 11:30 a.m.

In this Cooking with Camps segment, join our very own uOttawa chef Jimmy while he demonstrates how to make a quick and easy dessert, the Truffle.  


Leadership development

Friday, August 14: 1 - 1:30 p.m. and 2 - 2:30 p.m.

In this workshop, come learn and expand your knowledge about disabilities. Leaders will have the opportunity to gain awareness and a better understanding of the realities of living with a disability while learning how to empower others and themselves.  

Age groups advised:

1:00-1:30 = 11-14yrs

2:00-2:30 = 15-17yrs


Counselor in Training

Wednesday, August 19: 1 - 1:30 p.m.

In this session, we will be discussing the basics of behaviour management, the reasons behind disruptive behaviour in children and tips on how to approach them. Learn how to apply your knowledge in real life situations. Please have the PDF handy for the activity.  


Cooking with Camps

Friday, August 21: 11:15 - 11:45 a.m.

Join uOttawa’s very own Dietician, Maryann Moffit as she guides campers through what it means to prepare a healthy and easy meal. In this session you will cover the benefits of meal prepping, as well as easy and healthy meal ideas.  


Leadership development

Friday, August 21: 1 - 1:30 p.m. and 2 - 2:30 p.m.

In these Leadership Sessions, join our very own Gabriel Chauvin, a former Gee-Gees camos counselor as well as a uOttawa alum who worked as a tutor for the University. Gab is now a certified teacher and is excited to provide campers with Study Strategies that will help them as they complete their high school diplomas and move on to University.
