Student insurance health plans

Students have access to insurance health plans through their student union or association - unless they choose to opt out (for example, if their parent’s or guardian’s insurance also covers them).

These plans offer coverage such as reimbursement for medication and dental care, but also for medical professional services, such as physiotherapy or psychotherapy. You have access to a different plan depending on if you are an undergraduate or graduate student.

University of Ottawa Student Union (UOSU) – Undergraduate students

UOSU offers the health plan through StudentCare.

Graduate Student Association des Étudiants diplomés (GSAED) – Graduate students

The GSAED offers the health plan with GreenShield.
