The role of the staff of the undergraduate student services is to guide students throughout their studies, from the time of admission to the School until graduation.
Students enrolled in the School of Management, may request to have an academic advisor assigned to them to guide them during their studies. An advisor can help choose a program of studies best suited to personal goals, ensure that students have all the information needed to make the best choices.

Students must meet with an advisor for the following:
• resolve difficulties arising during studies;
• request a change of program;
• modify program due to withdrawal from courses or a failure, and help determine a workload suited to the student's abilities;
• discuss any difficulties with courses;
• discuss the application of academic regulations.


CAREER SERVICES
Career services' primary objective is to prepare students and alumni for their job search, and to encourage relations between students, employers, and alumni of the School of Management. The office is also responsible for the School's public relations. The career services of the School of Management completes services offered by the University's Career and Employment Centre.

Career services offers a job posting Web site for permanent, part-time, contract and summer employment and a résumé database for students and alumni. A program called connections offers students the opportunity to volunteer in an organization five hours a week, in order to gain valuable work experience while accumulating course credits. The career services Web site provides students with resources to help with the search for employment.

Through various networking activities, career services gives students the opportunity to meet potential employers. Students should make a point of meeting the staff of the service in their first year. It's never too early to start networking!

TEACHING PERSONNEL

Every full-time professor of the School has an office and is available to students for consultation during office hours. These hours are normally posted outside the office door and are indicated on the course outline the professor provides at the beginning of a course.

Students are encouraged to seek advice and assistance from their professors. Messages may be left at the reception desk or by phoning (613) 562-5731. An academic advisor can help if students experience difficulties contacting their professor.


COMMERCE AND ADMINISTRATION STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION (CASA)

Seven students elected by their peers form the executive team of the CASA and act as a link between its members and the administration of the School. CASA also organizes or champions activities that allow students to meet each other. For example, it supports clubs in accounting, marketing, MIS, human resource management, finance and AIESEC. CASA plays an important role in the organization of the Undergraduate Business Games and the Jeux du commerce.


Students can drop by the CASA office, students' lounge, Vanier Hall. The executive team is there to help, inform, share ideas and give advice.
