MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN

This is an exciting time to be embarking on a management education. Canada's dynamic economy is creating incredible opportunities for well-trained and versatile leaders.
In today's technology-driven global economy, organizations need managers who can develop and implement solutions to multi-dimensional and complex problems. These managers require leading-edge knowledge in the core management disciplines, combined with the ability to integrate knowledge and perspectives from all of them. They also need strong conceptual, communications, interpersonal and leadership skills. They must be technologically literate and have the ability to work in teams and cross-culturally.

The University of Ottawa's School of Management combines a strong and innovative undergraduate curriculum with Canada's best location for management education. Our
program is designed to give you a solid foundation in key management disciplines and the skills required to manage in a fast-paced technology-intensive environment. Classroom learning is carefully blended with real-life experience that prepares you to apply your academic knowledge to real management problems.

The School of Management takes full advantage of its location in Canada's political and technology capital. One of the fastest-growing and dynamic business areas in the country, Ottawa is a global business center. The region is rich with start-ups, information-technology and biotechnology ventures, as well as government and international trade organizations, which offer attractive opportunities for unique internships, co-op assignments, team consulting projects, and employment. The School's relationships with leading organizations in the public and private sectors provide solid career prospects, reality-based courses, and access to key executives.

The undergraduate program is supported by a team of over 80 full-time professors and over 100 part-time faculty from the business and public-sector communities. Full-time faculty bring an impressive record in teaching, research and consul-ting. Their work and experience allow them to maintain close contact with the real world of managers.

The School also boasts a culturally rich and diverse student body that helps you prepare for living, working and mana-ging in the global economy.

I look forward to welcoming you on campus.

Micheal J. Kelly,

Dean
