Nutrition Sciences

The Honours Baccalaureate in Nutrition Sciences program is accredited by Dietitians of Canada. Very applied in focus, the program has been structured such that students learn and apply theoretical concepts in the same year of study. Internship agreements have been signed with organizations in the various occupational fields and in Francophone regions of Canada, including Ontario and Western Quebec. Since internships take place at the end of the winter session, students are encouraged to return to their home communities and thus re-establish ties while applying the concepts they have learned, keeping their accommodation costs down and perhaps finding a local seasonal job.

Vision
The Honours Baccalaureate in Nutrition Sciences program is offered in French and trains bilingual students according to the professional accreditation and ethical standards. The program is designed to help students meet the registration requirements of the College of Dietitians of Ontario. It therefore ensures cooperation with French-language and bilingual internship organizations in the Champlain region and in the rest of Canada and provides a balance between the various occupational fields: therapeutic nutrition, community nutrition, food service management and nutrition research. The program also supports faculty in achieving this vision and promotes excellence in research.
