Jewish Studies

In this multidisciplinary program, you come to understand Jewish life, culture, language,
literature and history in a Canadian context. You study the major Jewish communities in Canada's cultural mosaic at the turn of the twentieth century, with a focus on history, sociology, literature and the arts. You also learn about the significant influence of Jews as part of Canada's growing cultural diversity in the last century.

Two springtime intensive courses in Yiddish language and culture are offered. They include both classroom study and enrichment activities such as films, conferences and field trips.
