History

The study of history promotes a better understanding of how societies work, the factors that bring them together and set them apart, and the events that shape their values and identity. The historical approach also helps explain the evolution of culture and institutions, and their interaction with politics, economics and society. Courses cover periods from the ancient to the contemporary, regions such as Canada, the United States, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa, and an exciting array of themes, including gender, race, ideology, diplomacy and war.
