Health Sciences

The honours bachelor's degree in health sciences, an innovative program offered in both English and French, is truly one of a kind.

Its goal is to train professionals and researchers who can make original contributions to the study of the social, biological and environmental factors affecting health. It also uses an interdisciplinary approach to acquaint students with the health issues and challenges that individuals and entire communities, both across Canada and around the world, wrestle with every day.

Students explore a range of fields, including human anatomy and physiology, microbiology and immunology, pharmacology, communication and health, health program planning and evaluation, nutritional determinants of health and bioethics.

With its solid focus on excellence, the program takes an integrated approach to the study of health sciences. Students therefore come away ready to take on an array of responsibilities in both public and private agencies or to pursue graduate-level professional training in audiology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech therapy or in other health care fields like epidemiology, health promotion, international health, human kinetics and medicine.
