Focus of the BSc in human kinetics program

The honours bachelor of science in human kinetics is a multidisciplinary program that incorporates biophysical, socio-cultural, psychological, and pedagogical areas of knowledge toward the scientific understanding of physical activity, sport, and human movement. A unique aspect of the School of Human Kinetics is that it is situated in the Faculty of Health Sciences, thus providing an excellent framework in which to emphasize how physical activity and sport are key components in the promotion of holistic health. The curriculum adopts both a theoretical and applied framework that facilitates knowledge and skill acquisition related to health, physical activity, and sport and the interactions of these factors in various settings. Several areas of interest can be pursued within the Human Kinetics program, such as psychosocial issues in community health, coaching, teaching, evaluation and promotion of health through physical activity, and sport and leisure administration.
