To be eligible, students must provide the University with a letter of recommendation from their high-school principal and have an overall average of 90% or more.
Head Start program
Grade 12 students who are high achievers may be eligible to take one three-unit course per term at a cost of $150 per course. These courses may count towards the degree requirements of the student's program when they enrol at the University of Ottawa at a later time. Students can take up to a maximum of two university courses or the equivalent of six units.

To participate in this program, students must send an email to [email protected] and provide the requested documentation. After receiving the requested documentation, the University will contact the student with further information.
Selected students are enrolled as special students in the gifted student category and must comply with the same academic policies and regulations as regular uOttawa students. Consult academic regulations to find out more about non-degree student categories and applicable regulations.
