A national security strategy for the 2020s Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is another global disruption that has exposed how Canada is ill-prepared for the world’s changing security environment, according to the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) Task Force on National Security, which issued its report on May 24, 2022.

Michael Wernick retired in 2019 after a 38-year career as one of the key leaders of Canada’s world-class federal public service.
