Biographie

Leo Russomanno is a graduate from the University of Ottawa Common Law program as well as Carleton’s NPSIA Master’s program in International Politics. He was called to the bar in 2008 and has since then practiced exclusively in the area of criminal law. He is a trial lawyer who has defended clients charged with all manner of offences, including assault, robbery, drug possession, firearm possession, sexual assault, fraud, murder, and terrorism offences. He taught in the Law and Legal Studies department at Carleton University for four years. He is the Vice President of the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa (DCAO) since 2021 and has appeared dozens of times before Parliamentary committees to provide his views on criminal legislation. At present he has his own criminal practice and is the principal at Russomanno Criminal Law.
