There are three federal research councils who offer funding for graduate studies. At the master’s level, the goal is to help develop research skills and assist in the training of highly qualified personnel by supporting students who demonstrate a high standard of achievement in undergraduate and early graduate studies.
At the doctoral level, the scholarships recognize and supports the next generation of outstanding innovators, knowledge workers, creative thinkers and researchers.
These scholarships have a value of $27,000 (one year/non-renewable) for a maximum of three terms at the master’s level and $40,000 per year, for a maximum of 12 terms at the doctoral level.
