Collin Fletcher obtained his undergraduate degree from Carleton University, majoring in Law, and subsequently attended the University of Ottawa, where he earned his Juris Doctor(J.D). After graduating from law school, Collin worked in a variety of legal environments, including a fast-paced insurance defence law firm, his own practice for two years, and a boutique family law litigation firm. During his time in private practice, Collin litigated matters in court while also developing an appreciation for negotiation and alternative dispute resolution processes, such as mediation.
In 2022, Collin transitioned to an in-house counsel role, first working at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute before joining the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute in the summer of 2024. Working in a healthcare research environment has been immensely rewarding for Collin. Assisting with contracts and legal matters allows him to play a small role in supporting important research and innovation.
Since 2017, Collin has also taught in the Law and Legal Studies program at Carleton University, primarily teaching courses in Mediation, Risk and the Law, and Approaches to Legal Studies.
