Training and Common Equipment Maintenance
Our team ensures that you have safe and efficient access to high-quality shared equipment. Our services include:
- Training and technical assistance for all common equipment. Training is mandatory for all instruments identified by a yellow sign with the letter “T”. Please complete the CETS Request Form to request training.
- Management of the Infinity - Elan online booking system. Please consult our Infinity User Guide to create your account and reserve instruments.
- Preventive maintenance, calibration and repair of common equipment.
- Inspection and daily maintenance of common rooms.
-80°C Freezers
We provide preventive maintenance and continuous monitoring for your -80°C freezers to ensure their optimal operation and safe storage of your samples. Our services include:
- Routine Maintenance (every 3 months): Cleaning of air filter, backup battery check-up and replacement.
- Rescue -80°C Freezer Management: Available for emergencies and planned defrost. To request a freezer for a defrost, please complete the CETS Request Form.
- 24/7 Monitoring: We offer continuous monitoring of -80°C freezers using the Sensaphone monitoring system to promptly address any temperature issues. To help us evaluate the emergency, please inform us at [email protected] if the door of your freezer is left open for a long period (e.g., sample organization, ice removal). Make sure to update your emergency contact information:
- on your freezer
- by notifying CETS by email as soon as a change occurs
CO2 Incubators
We provide comprehensive support for CO₂ incubators to ensure their optimal performance for your cell culture needs. Our services include:
- CO2 and temperature calibrations: Request calibration of your incubator at [email protected].
- CO2 connections: Installation of CO₂ regulators, gas line connections, gas guard installation, incubator parameters configuration.
- Assessments: To identify and address issues such as leaks, error messages, HEPA filters replacement, and other failures.
Cold room (CTE)
Our team is responsible for managing the shared cold rooms at the Faculty of Medicine.
- Space allocation: Please contact [email protected] to obtain or modify a work space in a cold room.
- Inspections: Monthly inspections are carried out to prevent mold growth in the cold rooms. During these inspections, we look for improper storage, such as cardboard and styrofoam boxes, loose items not placed in secondary containers or unlabeled items. We also assess the general cleanliness of the room and check for any mechanical issues.
- Emergency relocation: Our team relocate the contents of a cold room in the event of a breakdown. We also follow up on subsequent repairs.
Please contact us if you observe a leak or spill, or if you notice any other anomalies in a cold room.

Our team offers a 24/7 monitoring service for multiple critical equipment:
- -80ºC freezers (Sensaphone monitoring system)
- Alarm-equipped fridges and freezers
- CTE (Cold rooms)
- Incubators

Assistance with lab owned equipment
Our team has extensive expertise with a wide range of laboratory instruments and offers support for minor repairs and maintenance. Our services include:
- Initial assessment of defective lab instruments
- Coordination of repairs
- Provide information on equipment, procedures and services
- Guidance on selecting and purchasing new equipment and supplies
