Biography

Dr. Aaron Jackson obtained a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Waterloo in 2000. She then completed her Doctor of Medicine degree at The University of Western Ontario in 2004. Dr. Jackson completed her residency training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the University of Ottawa in 2009, followed by a two year subspeciality training program in Gynaecologic Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at the Ottawa Fertility Centre.

Dr. Jackson is consulting physician at the Ottawa Fertility Centre and an attending physician at the Ottawa Hospital, as well as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa.

She is an active member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and is certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound. Dr. Jackson offers care in all areas of reproductive medicine with compassion, empathy, and just the right amount of humour. As chair of the Patient Experience Committee, Dr. Jackson is committed to ensuring that patients feel heard, understood, respected, and well-cared for at the Ottawa Fertility Centre.

Dr. Jackson has a special interest in adolescents and young adults facing medical therapies that may compromise their fertility. She is the lead physician for the Fertility Preservation program at the Ottawa Fertility Centre, and has developed strong working relationships with both adult and pediatric oncology health professionals in the region, ensuring the urgent fertility needs of this patient population are met in a timely manner. She has been invited to speak at many local, regional, provincial, and national conferences on the subject of fertility preservation and is an advocate for patients to ensure access this important aspect of oncology care.
