Biography

Dr Carolina Souza is an associate professor in the Department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics, and a thoracic radiologist in the Department of Medical Imaging at The Ottawa Hospital. 

Dr Souza has been actively involved in teaching, research and multidisciplinary care.  She has served as Undergraduate Program Director and Director of the Thoracic Imaging Fellowship program. She is a passionate teacher and has received various teaching awards.  Her work has been crucial to the implementation of the Interstitial Lung Disease Clinic at The Ottawa Hospital and she has been the chief radiologist of the ILD Multidisciplinary Discussion Meetings since 2013. She has over 85 publications in peer-reviewed journals, over 170 abstracts in medical conferences and has participated in the development of 13 national imaging guidelines, technical reports and advisory committee publications. Dr Souza has been an invited lecturer in numerous national and international conferences, including the RSNA International Visiting Professor Program. Her main areas of interest include interstitial lung diseases, advances in lung cancer and medical education.
