Biography

Dr. Papadatos is an assistant professor in the Department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics and has been  an abdominal radiologist in the Department of Medical Imaging at The Ottawa Hospital since 1999. 

Dr. Papadatos founded the first abdominal imaging fellowship program, was appointed director of the first 1.5 Tesla MRI in Ottawa, and founded the first percutaneous radiofrequency ablation (RFA) program in eastern Ontario. He also served at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for 10 years, in various roles including oral examiner, Chair of the abdominal section Oral exam, Chair of the written component and as an Executive Committee member. Dr. Papadatos is best known for his clinical expertise, procedural skills and his teaching, for which he has been nominated for and won "Teacher of the year" on numerous occasions.  He was nominated for these awards by both diagnostic radiology residents and abdominal imaging fellows.
