Personal interests

Learning the art of practicing medicine is just as important as mastering its science.

I always try to provide up-to-date and evidence-based feedback to my learners and help them develop the independence necessary to maintain their own continuous medical education. In addition to teaching them the science of medicine, I always try to put the learner’s experience in perspective with the challenges of our evolving health care system, and act as a role model to teach them how to treat patients and colleagues with respect and dignity. I always emphasize the importance of excellent communication skills when it comes to gathering the clinical information necessary to recognize medical conditions, to providing reassurance when some questions remain unanswered, or to the delivery of difficult news.
