The Information Technology and Information Management sectors are collaborating to deliver an exciting change in how personal files are stored by the University population with OneDrive under the auspices of the Personal Network Drive to OneDrive Migration project.

OneDrive is officially replacing personal network drives as the tool to save your University-related personal information!

Your personal network drive is the location on your University-issued computer where you might be used to storing your work files. Likely, your personal network drive is shown as your H: Drive (or the S: or Y: drive for some units). In the past, many have used personal network drives as the one-size-fits-all solution for storing personal information. This solution has become obsolete and for this reason, will be decommissioned in the coming months.

OneDrive: the perfect solution

OneDrive is a Microsoft 365 application that lets you store your personal, work-related documents in one place, and is accessible anywhere, anytime and from any device. It offers a multitude of advantages that will provide a more organized work environment that utilizes best practices.

Start preparing for the decommission

Personal network drives will be set to read-only at the end of October 2022. Access will be removed beginning February 2023. Don’t wait and start migrating your personal information to OneDrive now!
