Soapbox Science aims to help promote gender equality in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM) by showcasing research led by women and non-binary people.
Soapboxes were once commonly used as makeshift podiums for one to voice their opinion – with Soapbox science, scientists hop on a box to share their expertise and hopefully create interest in their fields or as career paths.
This event is part of an international initiative which brings science to the people and challenges gender stereotypes in careers in science.
