Join us for this interdisciplinary one-day symposium.
About the event
This international interdisciplinary symposium brings together scholars, artists, and practitioners from Canada, Poland, Ukraine, and the US to examine how language, performance, and spatial imaginaries shape cultural identities across Central and Eastern Europe and their diasporas. Through discussions of historical cartographies, multilingual urban cultures, censorship, artistic resistance, translanguaging, and exilic theatre, participants explore how performance responds to political upheaval, migration, displacement, and war. The symposium concludes with a conversation on the present and future of cultural production across borders in times of conflict and forced migration.
