Local NGO: PROTEGE QV
After spending 12 weeks in Cameroon as part of my internship with PROTEGE QV, I realized how quickly the time had flown by.
This internship was a defining moment in my personal and professional development, and I am proud that I had the courage to embark on this unknown adventure. It takes courage to take such a step, because you never really know what you are going to experience or how you will adapt to such a challenge.
I had the opportunity to contribute to a major project supervised by PROTEGE QV: Radio Flambeau Banka, a local radio station run by a passionate team. My main task was to create a web radio station, an innovative tool that would reach a wider audience.
I am delighted to have been part of this crucial step, which paves the way for a promising future for the radio station. At the same time, I took part in the activities of the PROTEGE QV community of practice, a forum for exchange bringing together women leaders committed to Cameroon. These meetings promoted the sharing of experiences, the dissemination of good practices, and the strengthening of participants' skills.
We led discussions, organized participatory workshops on information technology, and shared essential resources to support their initiatives.
I had the opportunity to share my knowledge and enrich my own by leading an ICT training session for the PROTEGE QV team and several training sessions on web radio, supporting the Radio Flambeau Banka team.
This experience allowed me to acquire solid skills in radio management and production, areas I would never have considered exploring. On a cultural level, it gave me the opportunity to discover a rich culture, taste new flavors, and broaden my worldview.
This internship offered me much more than just professional experience: it brought me wisdom, strengthened my self-confidence, and above all, allowed me to meet inspiring women such as Ms. Sylvie Siyam, president of PROTEGE QV, whose exemplary commitment left a deep impression on me.
I end this adventure with a deep sense of gratitude and renewed energy for future projects.
