Arts and Social Science Innovation

Have you ever wondered, what is sustainability? What lies at the intersection of sustainability and entrepreneurship? How can I participate in sustainable living?

We’ve got you covered. Come explore the fascinating world of sustainability at Arts and Social Science Innovation, part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW).

Social Impact Takes the Runway (1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.)

We’ve heard so many of you ask how to make your lives more sustainable. For us, it starts with getting ready in the morning. Saltina Shaker and Sunshine Glitterchild will narrate the story of sustainability on the uOttawa campus — through clothing! Social Impact Hits the Runway is uOttawa’s first, wholly second hand fashion show. At uOttawa, we believe that fashion can be fun and sustainable — and we’re going to make you a believer too!

Local snacks and mixology (2:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.)

Come mix, mingle and munch! All guests will be treated to local snacks and hand-crafted mocktails.

Sustainability Starts with Us (2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.)

Our panel discussion will feature the past president of Canopy Growth, the co-founder of Impact Hub and the CEO of GBatteries. They’re on the cutting edge of new ideas and are here to teach us about entrepreneurial sustainability options. Everyone should walk away inspired and equipped to take eco-action in their daily lives.
