On the program

Dr. Nathan Alexander, Department of History and Religious Studies

Professor Alexander's research background is in the history of race and racism, and the history of atheism and secularization, with a focus on Europe and North America. He holds a PhD in modern history from the University of St Andrews and is the author of the book, Race in a Godless World: Atheism, Race, and Civilization, 1850-1914 (NYU Press/Manchester University Press, 2019), as well as dozens of articles, book reviews, and book chapters. He is also the co-host of the Beyond Atheism podcast.
