Event Details :

Come join the University of Ottawa Choir on April 12 for the world premiere of La Cantate de la Chasse-Galerie, inspired by the French-Canadian legend of the flying canoe. The Choir has partnered with five other Francophone choirs from across Canada—in Edmonton, Montreal and New-Brunswick—to commission this magnificent work by Montreal composer Rémi St-Jacques and poet Félix Delage-Laurin. In keeping with the theme of celebrating Canadian composers setting Canadian poems to music, the program will also feature works by seasoned composer Mark Sirett (including his latest composition) and composers Nicholas Ryan Kelly and Marie-Claire Saindon.

Musical Director: Robert Fillion

Assistant Choir Director: Maxime Bégin

Percussion-Piano Duo: Shhh!! Ensemble

Piano: Victor Toma
