🎓 Join the Faculty of Arts Graduate Welcome Day 2026!

Begin your uOttawa journey with mandatory information sessions designed specifically for new graduate students in the Faculty of Arts.

You’ll receive essential information about academic expectations, university platforms, available resources and the services that will support you throughout your graduate studies.

All new graduate students must attend both the Graduate Studies and CUPE sessions offered in their preferred language. Each session runs for one hour.

🎨 Afternoon Activity: Emotions in Colour

After your information sessions, take a creative break and join us for Emotions in Colour, from 1–2:30 p.m. in the Arts District, the outdoor space between Simard and Hamelin halls.

Open to all first-year undergraduate and graduate students in the Faculty of Arts, this relaxed and welcoming activity allows you to paint at your own pace, meet other students and enjoy the Faculty of Arts community.

Select an emotion that resonates with you—joy, confusion, hope, nostalgia, excitement or anything else—and bring it to life through a doodle or abstract painting. There is no pressure to be realistic or polished. Simply focus on the colours, shapes and lines that express how you feel.

Come enjoy:

• A creative space to paint freely
• The chance to meet other students
• Special visits from the Dean and Vice-Deans
• A draw for uOttawa hoodies
• Free snacks and treats
• A photo station where you can have your picture taken and receive a free printed instant photo as a Welcome Day keepsake

📸 Free Professional Headshots

Start the academic year with a new professional headshot! Headshot sessions will be offered from 2–4 p.m. in MRT 0024, Morisset Hall.

Space is limited, and advance booking is required. Appointments are available in three-minute time slots.

Please arrive a few minutes before your scheduled appointment. Students who arrive late may not be accommodated.
