Event details

Dr. Sudipta Acharya shares the practical lessons that nobody teaches you about growing as a researcher in the age of AI.

Hosted by uOttawa’s student chapter of ACM Women (Association for Computing Machinery Women), the event will begin by welcoming both current and prospective members with a brief introduction to our chapter, followed by engaging icebreaker activities.  

The event will feature an insightful talk by Dr. Sudipta Acharya, postdoctoral fellow at the University of Ottawa (Smart Connected Vehicles Innovation Centre & NEXTCON Lab), and will conclude with an informal networking session.

Pizza and soft drinks will be offered at the event. Registration is mandatory to secure your seat and food.

Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Ottawa (SCVIC & NEXTCON Lab)

Dr. Sudipta Acharya is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Ottawa (SCVIC & NEXTCON Lab). She previously held academic roles at Queen’s University as an Adjunct Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Fellow. She is a machine learning researcher specializing in unsupervised learning, pattern recognition, and optimization, with applications in bioinformatics, cybersecurity, and intent-based network management for 6G systems, and a growing interest in agentic AI for network management. Beyond her research, she is passionate about teaching and mentoring students and strongly supports inclusive growth in research communities.
