Biography

Kristen Holman obtained her undergraduate degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business, at Western University. She also graduated from the English Common Law program at the University of Ottawa with honours, during her time at uOttawa she was a member of the Vis International Commercial Arbitration moot team. After graduating from law school, Kristen worked in private practice with focusing on competition, international trade and corporate-commercial law at Bennett Jones LLP. She then transitioned to an in-house legal role at Loblaw, where she spent the next eight years focusing on commercial contracting.  Today, Kristen leads the legal function at Sephora Canada, where she serves as a strategic advisor to the business. She manages legal risk across a broad range of areas, including marketing, employment, and commercial law, while leading complex negotiations with Sephora's brand partners.

Kristen began teaching Commercial Law as a Part-Time Professor at uOttawa in 2025. Her teaching showcases common examples of contract disputes that arise in the commercial context and emphasizes practical approaches to commercial risk management.
