Biography

Daniel Tucker-Simmons is an adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa law school, where he supervises and instructs the Access to Justice Practicum Course. The A2J Lab is practicum course focused on experiential learning, innovation in legal service delivery, and access to justice. 

Daniel graduated from the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law in 2014, and he was called to the bar in 2015 after having completed his articles at Raven, Cameron, Ballantyne & Yazbeck, LLP. Shortly after his call, Daniel cofounded Avant Law to answer the call for innovation in legal service delivery. Avant Law is an Ottawa based law firm practicing in workers' rights, tenants' rights and human rights law.

Daniel’s objective is to make the law comprehensible and accessible through the use of innovative business practices and effective use of technology. Daniel believes in the principle that everyone has a right to access justice, and he strives to realize that principle at Avant Law and through his courses at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law.
