Professor Amy Salyzyn has been recognized as an Excellence Awardee in the “Female Trailblazer of the Year (Academia & In-House)” category at the Canadian Law Awards.

The Canadian Law Awards celebrate lawyers, organizations, and legal leaders who are shaping the future of the profession through innovation, impact, and leadership. Being named a finalist places Professor Salyzyn among a distinguished group of professionals from across the country, spanning private practice, in-house counsel, and the broader legal sector.

This recognition highlights Professor Salyzyn’s important contributions to legal scholarship, teaching, and public engagement, and specifically her emergence as one of Canada’s leading voices on legal ethics, professionalism, and the responsible integration of technology in legal practice. It is particularly meaningful to see an academic honoured in a national forum that brings together the full spectrum of the legal profession. Her inclusion among this year’s finalists reflects the growing recognition of the vital role that legal academics play in advancing the profession and influencing its future direction.

Earlier this year, Professor Salyzyn was awarded the Law Society Medal by the Law Society of Ontario.

The Common Law Section congratulates Professor Salyzyn on this well-deserved recognition!
