Biography
Dr. Jane Lougheed received her medical degree from Queen’s University. She completed her Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology residencies at CHEO. She went on to complete a fellowship in Echocardiography and Fetal Cardiology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
Dr. Lougheed served as Division Chief of Cardiology at CHEO from 2007 to 2025. She currently practices as a staff cardiologist at CHEO and serves as a consulting cardiologist for the Departments of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Neonatology at The Ottawa Hospital, as well as at the Qikiqtani General Hospital in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
She is the past Chair of the Examination Board and current Chair of the Subspeciality Committee in Pediatric Cardiology at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Lougheed’s clinical and research interests include echocardiography, exercise physiology, fetal cardiology, neuromuscular disorders, and pediatric heart failure.
