Biography

Dr. Magdalena Tarchala is a dual fellowship–trained Paediatric Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Surgeon. She completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at McGill University, followed by a Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, and was subsequently selected by Harvard University to pursue advanced fellowship training in Paediatric Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital through Harvard University.

Dr. Tarchala’s clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of paediatric orthopaedics and sports medicine, with particular expertise in minimally invasive and arthroscopic techniques focused on joint preservation and ligament reconstruction.

She has extensive experience caring for athletes of all ages and levels and has served as a team physician from the high school to professional level, including at the Boston Marathon.Her academic and clinical interests include sport-specific injury prevention, multidisciplinary rehabilitation incorporating psychological recovery, sex-specific sports injuries, and the care of the female adolescent athlete.

Dr. Tarchala is actively involved in multinational committees and collaborative research groups focused on joint preservation and optimizing outcomes for the female adolescent athlete, contributing to the advancement of evidence-based care in paediatric sports medicine.
