Biography
Dr Marc Gaudet is originally from Moncton New Brunswick. Dr Gaudet completed medical school and residency training at l'Université Laval in Quebec City. During his residency he completed a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology from l'Université Laval and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada’s Clinician Investigator Program. He then completed his clinical research fellowship in GU/Gyn Brachytherapy at BCCA Vancouver as well as a Masters in Health Administration from the University of British Columbia. He served as a staff radiation oncologist, head of radiation oncology and director of oncology research at the Gatineau Hospital from 2013 to 2016 and then moved on to a position at The Ottawa Hospital in June 2016 where he now specializes Head and Neck, Lung and Palliative radiotherapy. He is currently an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Ottawa and a Senior Clinician Investigator with the Clinical Epidemiology Program of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. He has been Head of the Division of Radiation Oncology since September 2021. In July 2022 he became one the first two oncologists licenced to practice in Nunavut where he co-leads the cancer care clinic in Iqaluit. He currently also serves as President-elect of the Canadian Association of Radiation Oncology. His current research Interests include inequalities in access to cancer care, cost-effectiveness of cancer care and implementation of complex radiotherapy techniques in remote regions and low/middle-income countries.
