Biography
Dr. William Miller is an associate professor at the University of Ottawa. He has retired from full time work but continues to work intermittently in our department as a locum tenens. He served as interim Chief and Chair of Medical imaging from 2006-2008. He is a past- President of the Canadian Association of Radiologists. He served as the Canadian representative to the American College of Radiologists from 2011-2015.
Dr. Miller graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Manitoba. He completed a rotating internship at McGill University in Montreal then went on to practice as a family physician for 13 years before returning to complete a four-year radiology residency at the University of Missouri. He completed his training with a two-year neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Toronto. He has practiced neuroradiology in Ottawa since 1999.
He is a Fellow of the CAR, and USA Fellow of the ACR.
Dr. Miller’s current areas of interest include: quality, radiation safety, clinical decision support rules and appropriateness of diagnostic imaging, how to manage ballooning healthcare costs, particularly from an imaging point of view, as well as the gamut of diagnostic neuroradiology.
Dr. Miller is a proud father, and an avid photographer, cottager, and golfer.
