Biography

Dr. MacRae graduated from Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute as the recipient of the Governor General's Medal. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Summa Cum Laude) at McMaster University followed by his Doctorate in Medicine (Cum Laude) and Bachelor of Medical Sciences at the University of Ottawa. He did his post graduate training in Radiation Oncology through the University of Ottawa and then pursued a fellowship at Vanderbilt University focused on combined modality therapy in lung cancer. He has been on staff at the Ottawa Hospital since 2001.  He has been active with clinical research and was the local PI for the RTOG for almost a decade. He is currently a Royal College Examiner. He has held a number of roles in the administration of the Division including Quality Lead, Deputy Head and Acting Division Head.
