Truth and Reconciliation

Event details

Staff, faculty and learners from affiliated institutions are invited to participate in this Truth and Reconciliation event.

The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) will host a fireside chat with Rose LeMay, TOH Governor and First Nation Co-Chair of the Indigenous Peoples Advisory Circle to TOH. Using LeMay's bestselling book Ally Is a Verb as a starting point, the conversation between LeMay and Julie Cafley, uOttawa Vice President Francophonie and External and Community Relations, will focus on how non-Indigenous people working at all levels in the health-care system can integrate allyship into their work with patients, families and colleagues. Attendees will leave empowered with practical recommendations and a better understanding of the responsibility they hold in addressing anti-Indigenous racism in healthcare.
