Anique Le Roux

Anique Le Roux is a third-year Internal Medicine resident at the University of Ottawa with a strong interest in quality improvement research. She is excited to be presenting at the Planetary Health Research Collaborative (PHRC) Meeting and looks forward to learning from fellow participants.

Danielle Cruise

Danielle Cruise

PhD Candidate in Management, Health Systems, Telfer School of Management, uOttawa

Danielle Cruise is a PhD Candidate in Management, specializing in Health Systems at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa, under the supervision of Dr. Mirou Jaana. Her research focuses on resilience, performance, and health information technologies in long-term care homes.

As a research assistant, Danielle has gained experience conducting qualitative research through methods such as interviews and focus groups. Recently, she worked on a project exploring environmental sustainability initiatives from the perspective of hospital executives. She was an attendee of the CIHR Summer Program in Aging and a finalist in the SSHRC Storytellers Competition, where she communicated the impacts and relevance of her research through a 300-word infographic.

Mirou Jaana

Mirou Jaana

Ph.D. (Health Management and Policy), University of Iowa

Dr. Mirou Jaana completed a PhD in Health Management and Policy at the University of Iowa, with a concentration in Health Informatics, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at HEC Montréal under the Canada Research Chair in Information Technology in Health Care. 

She has held various leadership roles, including Director of the PhD Program in Management, the Master of Health Administration, and the Executive Master of Health Administration at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa. 
Her research sits at the intersection of health care management and health informatics, focusing on: (1) Telehealth applications adoption and impacts, (2) Information technology assessment and evaluation in health care organizations, (3) Electronic Medical Record implementation, and (4) Digital health innovation adoption and use by older adults and in long-term care.

She has published in top peer-reviewed journals, presented at national and international meetings, and served on grant selection committees and as a reviewer for journals and conferences in health care management and informatics.

Gabrielle Nadon

Gabrielle Nadon

Third-year Pharmacy Student, uOttawa

Gabrielle Nadon is a third-year pharmacy student in the first cohort of the University of Ottawa’s French-language PharmD program. She previously completed three years in the Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences (Integrative Health Biosciences option) at uOttawa. 
Gabrielle has been working in hospital pharmacy settings since 2021 and is currently employed as a pharmacy student at The Ottawa Hospital. She is also involved in research and serves as Vice-President of Internal and Academic Affairs for the Pharmacy Student Association.

Meriam Zeghal

Meriam Zeghal

Third-year Pharmacy Student, uOttawa

Meriam Zeghal is a third-year pharmacy student in the first cohort of the University of Ottawa’s French-language PharmD program and holds a BSc from uOttawa. She supports the pharmacy team as an employee at The Ottawa Hospital and is actively involved in research. Outside of class, she is passionate about planetary health and participates in initiatives such as the STARS program with Choosing Wisely.

Nicole Prince

Nicole Prince

Fourth-year Endocrinology Fellow, The Ottawa Hospital

Nicole Prince is a 4th year Endocrinology Fellow at The Ottawa Hospital, currently interested in research related to planetary health and endocrinology. She has experience with implementing a planetary health academic half day for the uOttawa Internal Medicine Residency program, was a member of the uOttawa Planetary Health Working Group, creating undergraduate MD curriculum change and created the Climate Wise online resource for planetary health education for medical professionals.
