As a student-run publication, the University of Ottawa’s Global Health Journal is organized and edited by learners, with support from the International and Global Health Office. It provides an accessible space for students to contribute research, reflections, and lived experiences related to global health and health equity.
This inaugural issue features a wide range of topics, including insights from global health electives, critical analyses of health equity, and perspectives on public health challenges across both local and international contexts. Together, these contributions reflect a growing commitment among students to addressing complex health issues through an equity-focused and culturally informed lens.
The journal plays an important role in fostering a community of learning and dialogue around global health while amplifying student voices and experiences. By encouraging interdisciplinary thinking and reflection, it supports the development of future health professionals who are attentive to the social and structural determinants of health.
