Proxim | Uniprix Award – Leadership in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)

This award aims to recognize a pharmacy undergraduate doctoral student, or a group of students, who are actively engaged in promoting and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) within their academic training, extracurricular activities, or professional endeavors.

Details of the Fund

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

  • Be enrolled full-time in the undergraduate Doctor of Pharmacy program at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa.

  • Be actively involved in a project that promotes and advances equity, diversity, and inclusion in the context of their studies, extracurricular activities, or workplace.

Examples of eligible projects include:

  • Implementing caring practices and positive changes that foster an inclusive approach in pharmacy practice.

  • Developing concrete initiatives that enable the university community to live in an environment that ensures respect and the well-being of all its members.

Application Requirements

The application must include:

  • The candidate’s curriculum vitae.

  • A one-page letter of intent, including a concrete example (e.g., participation in a student committee, community engagement, volunteer experience, or a research project related to EDI).

Award Amount

  • One (1) award of $2,500

Deadline

  • October 31, 2025, by 5:00 p.m.

Selection Committee

The selection committee consists of the following three members:

  • The program director, or a delegate, serving as chair

  • The associate director of student affairs, or a delegate

  • An external member

Note: At least one of the three members must be a licensed pharmacist.
