Professors Cory Harris and Adam Shuhendler are giving safe injection site staff and people who use drugs fast, life-saving information. Their initiative, RADAR, delivers rapid drug testing to support smarter, safer decisions.

Crossing boundaries: Art, science and climate solutions

Heather Kharouba and her team partnered with artist Valérie Chartrand to create “Flutterings”, an art–science project revealing how warming affects flowers and pollinators—turning climate data into a striking visual story.

A local high schooler’s journey to the United Kingdom and beyond

High school student Raneem Salah turned a Grade 9 passion into real research after Professor Marc Ekker welcomed her into his uOttawa lab. Her award-winning zebrafish work has taken her to national stages, the London Youth Science Forum, and soon to Expo-Sciences International 2025.
