Valedictorian nomination

The Valedictorian is a prestigious honour awarded to a student who has distinguished himself or herself through academic excellence, commitment and leadership.

Overview

  • Two graduating Sciences students will be selected to speak for the entire Science graduating class for the June convocation.
  • Open to all graduating full-time undergraduate students in good standing.
  • The Valedictorian will write and deliver an address (no longer than five minutes) during the Faculty of Science convocation ceremony.
  • Students may nominate themselves.

Application process

Application Deadline: Midnight, April 15, 2026

  • Complete the Valedictorian Nomination Form 2026
  • A nomination must include the following information or documents:
    • Identification of the candidate
    • Motivational text (200 to 300 words). This text should demonstrate your achievements and your impact on the community. You can mention your academic achievements, your research experience, any recognition or awards you have received, your involvement in community projects and student clubs, and your voluntary work.
    • Proof of submission of the “Apply for graduation”. You will receive a confirmation email, which you can save as a PDF or screenshot.

Successful candidates will be contacted on May 15, 2026, at the latest.
